My Growth and Development: As a leader, even from the beginning I have used this skill in my leadership approach. Since attending ASU I have learned much more about empathy and how it comes to play in an organization. Gaining more knowledge of this skill has helped me to be a better leader in the sense that I have better communication and listening skills with my team.
Competency Artifact: This is a paper I reflected on the class lessons and a game simulation. Through this paper I was able to gain some insight of people on a more emotional and deeper level. Gaining a better understanding of what people go through has given me a different perspective in how I view people. Often we do not know to the full extent what the people we work with have going on outside of work. This has helped me better support my team.
